Beliefs
We Stand Firmly on the Word of God
We believe it is important to be a church with a solid foundation and clear vision. Our beliefs and core values are the driving factors for what we do as a church.

To know Christ and to make Christ known.
Everything we do is driven by the mission to know Christ and to make Christ known.
God and Scripture
These beliefs shape how we understand who God is and how he has spoken.
God
God is the Creator and Ruler of the universe. He has eternally existed in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. These three are co-equal and are one God.
Scripture: Genesis 1:1, 26-27, 3:22; Psalm 90:2; Matthew 28:19; 1 Peter 1:2; 2 Corinthians 13:14
The Bible
The Bible is God's Word to all people. It was written by human authors under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living.
Scripture: 2 Timothy 1:13, 3:16; 2 Peter 1:20-21; Psalm 12:6, 119:105, 160; Proverbs 30:5
Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is the Son of God. He lived a sinless human life, offered himself as the perfect sacrifice for our sins, rose from the dead, ascended to heaven, and will return again.
Scripture: Matthew 1:22-23; Isaiah 9:6; John 1:1-5, 14:10-30; Hebrews 4:14-15; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Romans 1:3-4; Acts 1:9-11
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is equal with the Father and the Son as God. He makes us aware of our need for Christ and gives every Christian power, understanding, and guidance.
Scripture: 2 Corinthians 3:17; John 14:16-17, 16:7-13; Acts 1:8; 1 Corinthians 2:12, 3:16; Ephesians 1:13, 5:18; Galatians 5:25
Humanity and Salvation
Our need for grace is real, and God's offer of salvation is clear.
Human Beings
We are made in the spiritual image of God, to be like him in character. Although we have tremendous potential for good, we are marred by an attitude of disobedience toward God called sin.
Scripture: Genesis 1:27; Psalm 8:3-6; Isaiah 53:6a, 59:1-2; Romans 3:23
Salvation
Salvation is a gift from God. We can never make up for sin by self-improvement or good works. Only by trusting in Jesus Christ as God's offer of forgiveness can we be saved.
Scripture: Romans 6:23; Ephesians 2:8-9; John 1:12, 14:6; Titus 3:5; Galatians 3:26; Romans 5:1
Eternity
We were created to exist forever. We will either exist eternally separated from God by sin, or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation.
Scripture: John 3:16; 1 John 2:25, 5:11-13; Romans 6:23; Revelation 20:15
Eternal Security
Because God gives eternal life through Jesus Christ, the believer is secure in that salvation for eternity. Salvation is maintained by God's grace and power.
Scripture: John 10:29; 2 Timothy 1:12; Hebrews 7:25, 10:10-14; 1 Peter 1:3-5
The Church and Baptism
Faith is lived in community, marked by obedience, worship, and remembrance.
The Church
The New Testament church is a local body of baptized believers with Christ as its head and the Holy Spirit as its guide. Local churches cooperate to advance God's kingdom.
Scripture: Matthew 16:15-19; Acts 2:41-42, 47, 14:23, 20:28; Ephesians 1:22-23
Baptism
All Christ followers should be baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Baptism by immersion pictures the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ.
Scripture: Matthew 3:13-17, 26:26-30, 28:19-20; John 3:23; Romans 6:3-5; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29; Colossians 2:12
