Talk To Me: Week 4

Talk To Me

Break the ice

If you were a chicken nugget, where would you be from?

Small group questions

  1. Do you find it easier to complain or to practice gratitude? Why?
  2. What happens when you are around someone who complains a lot? What happens when you are around someone who is always thankful?
  3. Read Philippians 2:14-15. What do these verses tell us about complaining?
Philippians 2:14-15NLT

14Do everything without complaining and arguing, 15so that no one can criticize you. Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

  1. What do these verses teach us about what happens when we “do everything without complaining and arguing”?
  2. Who is someone that you know who lives out these verses the right way? What makes them different?
  3. Read 1 Thessalonians 5:17. When are we supposed to be grateful? How does that change the way you think about gratitude?
1 Thessalonians 5:17NLT

17Never stop praying.

7. How does gratitude change our hearts?

Moving forward

Now that we have talked about gratitude, let’s practice. In the notes section on your phone or a sheet of paper, for three minutes list out things you are grateful for, big and small. When you are finished, have everyone share one thing from their list. Then, pray together. Thank God for the gifts He has given each one of you.
