The Other Side: What Will Judgment Day Be Like?

...“Truly I tell you the truth, today you will be with me in paradise.”

...“Father, into your hands I commit my Spirit.”...

⁸We are confident, I say, and would prefer to be away from the body and at home with the Lord.

²⁷Just as people are destined to die once, and after that to face judgment,

...all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.

Love for Enemies

²¹God made him who had no sin to be sin^[1] for us, so that in him we might become the righteousness of God.

“He who overcomes will, like them, be dressed in white. I will never blot out his name from the book of life, but will acknowledge his name before my Father and his angels.”

The Throne in Heaven

⁴Surrounding the throne were twenty-four other thrones, and seated on them were twenty-four elders. They were dressed in white and had crowns of gold on their heads.

The Heavenly Warrior Defeats the Beast

¹⁴The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean.

I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God.

By the grace God has given me, I laid a foundation as an expert builder, and someone else is building on it. But each one should be careful how he builds. For no one can lay any foundation other than the one already laid, which is Jesus Christ. If any man builds on this foundation using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light. It will be revealed with fire, and the fire will test the quality of each man’s work. If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames.

“…if anyone gives even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is my disciple, I tell you the truth, he will certainly not lose his reward.”

Then I saw a great white throne and Him who is seated on it... And I saw the dead, great and small, standing before the throne, and books were opened. Another book was opened, which is the book of life. The dead were judged according to what they had done as recorded in the books.

If anyone’s name was not found written in the book of life, he was thrown into the lake of fire.
