9The heart is deceitful above all things
and beyond cure.
Who can understand it?
In the spring, at the time when kings go off to war, David sent Joab out with the king’s men and the whole Israelite army. They destroyed the Ammonites and besieged Rabbah. But David remained in Jerusalem. One evening David got up from his bed and walked around on the roof of the palace. From the roof he saw a woman bathing. The woman was very beautiful, and David sent someone to find out about her. The man said, “She is Bathsheba, the daughter of Eliam and the wife of Uriah the Hittite.” Then David sent messengers to get her. She came to him, and he slept with her.
The sword will never depart from your house.
Loving God from the inside out means leaning your life on Him.
17The sacrifice you desire is a broken spirit.
You will not reject a broken and repentant heart, O God.
Loving God from the inside out means listening to God.
23Search me, God, and know my heart;
test me and know my anxious thoughts.
24See if there is any offensive way in me,
and lead me in the way everlasting.
Loving God from the inside out means letting Him lead you.
Let Him work.
26I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.
