1Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. Strategy 2: Throw off the weight of sin.
Let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles.
Step 1: Ask God for power to defeat sin.
I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit.
Step 2: Look for the way out.
God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it.
Step 3: Take steps toward the way out.
Step 4: If we blow it, confess it.
13Whoever conceals their sins does not prosper,
but the one who confesses and renounces them finds mercy.
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
